Timothy Rundle
Timothy Rundle is the second oboe in the Philharmonia Orchestra. He studied at the Royal Northern College of music and graduated in 2003. In 2005 he was appointed co-principal oboe with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra before joining the Philharmonia in 2011. He plays frequently as guest principal oboe with many of the country’s top orchestras, including the London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestras. Timothy teaches at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music.
Katherine Needleman
Principal oboist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Katherine Needleman has appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, among others, as well as with the Baltimore Symphony. As a chamber musician she has performed at such eminent venues as Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum, and Boston’s Jordan Hall and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, while her festival appearances include Verbier (Switzerland), Spoleto (Italy), Newport and Marlboro. She has premiered numerous works and commissioned music by Luis Prado, Chia-Yu Hsu and David Ludwig. Having attended the Curtis Institute of Music, she is now on the faculty of the Young Artist Summer Program at Curtis SummerFest.
